Sunday in Atlanta
Good morning! There are a few more pics coming, but due to time constraints I haven't been able to finish up yet. Stay tuned!
Our day started off pretty normal, we woke up and ate breakfast. But, sadly we found out that Pastor 7 still isn't feeling well so there was no service today. Thankfully we were able to find a good church near by to go to instead. When we got back after church we had lunch. After, Leah, Amelia, and I were able to help clean the dirty dishes from lunch. At one point one of the ladies from 7 bridges came in on the verge of tears in thankfulness and joy. She started telling us about how she has been praying that God would send someone to help and started telling us how much they all appreciate us. This showed me that God really did send me here for a reason and I am extremely grateful that I can have this opportunity to help in so many ways. Later we went to the Georgia aquarium where we were able to see so many of God's wondrous creations. It was so crazy to me just how different every animal was and yet how many were still able to live and move together. We really are fearfully and wonderfully made. Another thing that was crazy to me was the fact that when we were delivering those lunches yesterday, even though some peoples houses were falling apart or pretty much non existent, they were still able to put a smile on their faces and be willing to pray with us.

Today was a great experience being able to get out into the city and seeing the aquarium and the type of people that live in the city. We started the day going to a church in the city because the church we stayed at didn’t have a church because of sickness. The church we went to was really cool and it was fun to see a different church and how they shared and differed in the way they operated thier service. It was cool to see them singing some of the same songs we sing back home. Going back to yesterday, handing out lunches and praying with homeless people was so eye opening to how much they need Jesus and how blessed we are. I’ve always been told as a kid that I was very blessed but it hasn’t really set in until this trip. I’ve seen homeless people before but never to this extent. It is heartbreaking to see young kids living in such rundown houses that littlerly have walls falling off and people living in huts that look like something I built for fun as a kid in the woods. I’m so thankful for what God had blessed me with and am so glad I can share my blessings and show love to those who need it.

A group shot before leaving for church
We were sad weren't able to worship at 7 Bridges this morning. The pastor and some of the other men that lead worship were all sick, so the service was canceled. We were able to find a good church to go to near Downtown Atlanta. Christ church preaches the Word and it is very similar to what we have back home. The scripture reading (as we enter a new year) was from Isaiah 65. The focus was on the new creation and an eternity without sin! Thankful we could worship at Christ Church.
After lunch back at 7 Bridges - a little clean up.
The women on staff here are so thankful we are here and can help with some of the work. There are very few on staff and there is very little downtime. We are happy we can give them a break.
Heading out to check out the Georgia Aquarium

After we returned for the evening we spread out in the pews for our Bible Study / Reflection time. We discussed the importance of being in God's word and the promises that are given to those who "meditate on it night and day". When we were done we caught the second half of the Packer game on the big screen (big compared to phones anyway).
